Artifacts and text imports

Inspect retained sources, import a text document, and distinguish saving the original from admitting its claims.

Artifacts lists retained sources available to your signed-in reader in the current workspace. It gives you a way to inspect the source behind the record, even when processing hasn’t produced an admitted claim.

Use Search captured content and select Search to search the available captured text. Move through results with the page controls, then open an artifact.

The detail panel includes the full retained text and the available provenance, linked records and admission receipts. Expand the details when you need to understand where the source came from or what processing recorded. Download the original text when you need a local copy; follow your organization’s handling rules for that content.

Briefs contains generated summaries. A brief and the source it cites serve different purposes. Keep the source available when judging the summary.

When import is available to your role and workspace:

  1. Open Artifacts, then select Import.
  2. Choose a UTF-8 file: .txt, .md, .csv, .json or .jsonl, up to 256 KiB. This form imports one file at a time.
  3. Inspect the preview and confirm that the intended content is present.
  4. Choose Access labels from the options available to you. Check the workspace and intended readership before continuing.
  5. Select Import document. Choosing a file alone doesn’t submit it.
  6. Read the result, then follow the artifact link to inspect the saved content and admission details.

The text import preserves the submitted content, including its whitespace. PDF, Word and other binary files aren’t supported by this text form. Renaming a binary file to .txt doesn’t convert it.

Result Meaning and next step
The document has been retained The source was saved. Inspect the separate admission result before assuming its statements entered the record.
Admission is pending The source is retained, but processing hasn’t reported a completed admission. Keep the artifact reference and inspect its available details.
This content was already retained The submission matched an existing capture in this import context. Inspect that artifact rather than assuming a new copy was created.
Import unavailable The role, access configuration or service doesn’t currently support the action. Ask your workspace administrator to check it.

No linked claims doesn’t by itself mean the source was lost. Capturing a source doesn’t automatically write entries. Check whether a separate processing or agent writing step ran and read its result. The visible list covers only your accessible record. See Troubleshooting for the next checks.
